Improving science education across the nation
Through hands-on workshops, we encourage students to come up with new ideas and innovations in a safe and supportive environment.
Public school teachers receive little to no training on educational methods. This can lead to challenges in presenting information to students and results in a counterproductive class environment.
Ever since the beginning in 2012, the Scientific Culture Society, now the Science League, has been trying to provide higher quality programs to a wider audience across the country.
Our mission is to improve education in Jordan and show the next generation how to leverage science to solve problems and improve society. The Scientific Culture Society was officially registered as a charity in 2012 and became a nonprofit corporation under the name Science League in 2014. It grew to reach over 700 students in 8 Jordanian cities, doubling its reach annually and earning many awards and fellowships from local and international organizations. Some of our other programs focus on translating and adapting educational materials into Arabic in order to provide new resources to teachers in public schools. Our current project in this field is in cooperation with Project Learning Tree, an award winning environmental education curriculum.
